South Dakota will provide $5.2 million to build a trades center at Lake Area Technical College that will include training labs, classrooms, and student services facilities. The college must raise matching funds from donations and grants equal to the remaining project cost, and the state cannot issue bonds to pay for the project. This is a one-time appropriation to support technical education infrastructure.
