There is appropriated $500,000 from the general fund, to the Department of 5 Education, for the purpose of providing a grant to a nonprofit organization located within the 6 state to provide financial support to school districts and accredited nonpublic schools 7 implementing the Jobs for America's Graduates program. 8 Section 2. The grant may be used only to: 9 (1) Match moneys received from private contributions or donations; 10 (2) Match any federal education or career readiness grants received by the Jobs for 11 America's Graduates-South Dakota program; or 12 (3) Support larger, collaborative efforts in which the nonprofit organization is a 13 partner. 14 Any moneys generated or efforts supported under this section must be directed 15 toward the operations of a Jobs for America's Graduates program in a school district or 16 accredited nonpublic school located within this state and may not be added to an 17 endowment fund. 18 Section 3. The secretary of the Department of Education shall approve vouchers and the 19 state auditor shall draw warrants to pay expenditures authorized by this Act. 20 Section 4. Any amounts appropriated in this Act not lawfully expended or obligated shall 21 revert in accordance with the procedures described in chapter 4-8. 22 Section 5. Section 13-66-3 — REPEALED

There is hereby created within the state treasury the special donations fund, into which any grant, devise, bequest, donation, or gift, other than real property, made or offered for the benefit of the Jobs for South Dakota's Graduates Program shall be deposited. All moneys in the fund created in this section shall be used for the purposes of initiation, expansion, support, enhancement, or in carrying out the objectives of the Jobs for South Dakota's Graduates program. Interest earned on the money in the fund shall be deposited into the fund. Expenditures from the fund shall be appropriated through the normal budgeting process. Source: SL 2020, ch 67, § 3.
