South Dakota's medical marijuana program must now send more detailed information about registry cardholders to the state's prescription drug monitoring program, including their physical address, gender, and card number—in addition to the name and date of birth currently required. This expanded reporting requirement helps the state track prescription drug use patterns more comprehensively among medical marijuana patients, with an exception allowing homeless applicants to omit their address.
This bill does not directly amend codified state law.
