Rulemaking activity

The program director of a nurse aide training program shall: (1) Provide general supervision of the nurse aide training program in compliance with this chapter; (2) Select qualified primary nurse instructors, in accordance with the requirements in § 20:48:18:07; (3) Ensure that the students enrolled in the program were screened in accordance with subdivisions 20:48:18:02(1) and (2); (4) Create and maintain an environment conducive to teaching and learning; (5) Ensure that the training program meets the curriculum requirements in § 20:48:18:09; (6) Ensure any supplemental personnel who assist with teaching the program meet the qualification set forth in § 20:48:18:08; (7) Select qualified registered nurses to administer the skills evaluation in accordance with the requirements in § 20:48:16:11; (8) Ensure that a student is competent to perform a nursing task prior to the student performing the task on a client without direct supervision; (9) Ensure a licensed nurse is in the immediate area and available to supervise the student when the student is providing client care; (10) Verify a student's completion of the nurse aide training program to the board; (11) Submit a student's skills evaluation checklists to the board; and (12) Coordinate the student's completion of the certified nurse aide knowledge exam.
