apparently valid standard form or bracelet and not in cardiac arrest. If a person with an apparently valid standard form for an EMS cardiopulmonary resuscitation directive or bracelet as provided by this chapter is dying in the natural course of illness or disease but has not gone into cardiac arrest, emergency medical service personnel may perform the following measures: (1) Assist with maintaining an open airway, including suctioning; (2) Administer oxygen; (3) Administer pain medications (if authorized by a physician); (4) Control bleeding; and (5) Provide comfort care and emotional support to both patient and family.
